Crazy Life!

So I have been ridiculously busy and/or lazy so I haven’t blogged in forever.

This is Herbert:

Herbert is a praying mantis who has been living on my porch for about two weeks. I eventually found out that he is more than one praying mantis, because I saw him with a friend recently who was a slightly lighter color. I think his face is cute but it’s really creepy because you can literally watch is head turn and stare at you as you walk by. And he doesnt say much. The above photo was taken in VERY close range about 3 miliseconds before he “flew” away.

In other news, I’ve bee attempting to clean up the diet lately:

Turkey sausage, greens, appleaseauce.

Homemade curried chicken salad:

Meals composed to brown rice, something green, and super lean protein. Turkey meatballs. (p.s. never making meatballs out of 99% clean turkey ever again. They were SOOOO dry!)

I sprayed this on the rice to give it some aminos and a little bit of soy sauce flavor.

It doesn’t taste that much like soy sauce to me. I thought it was pretty gross, but way better than “naked” rice. I could see myself getting used to it.

I LOVED my curried chicken salad. So easy: shredded boiled chicken, red grapes slice in half, about 1/4 c. crushed walnuts, about 1/3 of an onion, a few teaspoons or so of curry powder, splash of apple cider vinegar, olive oil mayo… I wanted celery in it but I hate celery by itself so I skipped it.

I decided to bake some brussels sprouts for my other green veggie.

But I burnt them…

I ate them anyways.

My indulgence for the week: a post-run pumpkin spice latte at starbucks. I forgot to tell them that I wanted skim milk, no whip, and about half of the syrup. Woops.

And it was the first non-iced drink I’ve had in a while. Loving the cooler runs!!!

Okay. I have to at least rant a little bit about what’s been going on with my life…

I’ve been hitting the town a little more lately. On Saturday I ran into my ex’s ex best friend at a bar. I didn’t know they weren’t speaking so I was a bit surprised by that. Upon being given this rare opportunity, I decided to ask a few burning questions. I discovered that I had been cheated on on a regular basis for the better part of a year. I always had my suspicions, but this was the first time it was actually verified. I’m actually pretty releived. I thought I was one of “those” girls who is all stressed out and jealous and bitchy. But that’s not who I am at all. I WAS being cheated on. I ended it because I had proof that he was lying to me. But I never knew why he was doing it until now. Feel like I can finally move on with my freaking life!

Oh, also he is married now and doing the exact same thing that he did to me to his wife. I feel pretty disgusted that I fell so in love with such a horrible excuse for a human being, but knowledge is power and I’m pretty sure I have the tools now to avoid such a thing.

I think it’s actually okay with me to be single forever. I’m just envious of all the girls who get to buy a pretty white dress and go on a vacation…

I have SO much more to blog about, but It’s going to have to wait 🙂
