Peroneus Brevis, Peroneus Longus. Thanks to google I know what it’s called. It’s been killing me for weeks. But today, when I attempted a 5 mile run, it completely crapped out on me. I was 2 miles in and then suddenly my foot started aching like mad. I had to stop running. I had to walk/jog/limp the two miles back to my car. It was not any fun.
This was my first attempt to run any distance besides crossfit sprints since the marathon.
It wasn’t hurting my foot at all until today. I posted a few days ago about rolling it on the barbell and the glass pill bottle. I wonder if that caused more damage than help…
Luckily today’s crossfit consists of all upper body work:
20 minutes AMRAP:
2 muscle ups (or 6 pullups, 6 ring dips)
4 hand stand pushups
8 KB swings
(yuck. I’m 99% sure that I can’t even do one handstand pushup.)
I made an appointment with a Foot & Ankle specialist for Friday, so hopefully I will be able to get this taken care of soon. I can’t bear the thought of being forced to skip working out for any length of time. Therefore I’d rather do it now if it’s necessary. I’d rather take a few weeks off now and avoid surgery.
