Aaaaand get ready, I’m going to start posting ridiculous amounts of food again. Wait, did I ever stop?
This time the whole30 is completely Brad’s fault. The first one was me, but this one is all him. He had some pretty epic results, so I totally get why he is ready to go again. My results were kind of blah, but I am going to focus a little more on portion control this time. And on macronutrient ratios (instead of just eating bananas whenever I felt like it).
Here was dinner number 1:
Brad has many talents. Two of them are his steak and his sweet potato fries. I made the broccoli concoction that’s on there with it. We were both so exhausted while cooking that meal–pretty sure we ate it at like 10:30 at night by the time we ate because my car overheated and all this drama went down with that. It was redonkulous. If you are one of those people who doesn’t have to drive around with a jug of coolant in you car then count your lucky stars and thank whoever helped you buy yourself that fancy car…
The trick to succeeding at the whole30 is making enough dinner to last you for lunch the next day as well.
And in case you didn’t know…
Last night I tried another new recipe from PaleOMG: Creamy Tomato Chicken Sausage Pasta.
I actually used sun dried tomato chicken sausage because there was no “plain” chicken. There was garlic (which I tried before and didn’t like) and one with cheese in it which wasn’t Whole30 approved. So yeah. I figured sun tried tomato would work fine–it did.
Brad is a lot better at whole30 than I am. He actually preps food for breakfast. I will scramble eggs if I wake up early enough, but I usually end up grabbing a banana or an apple and running out the door. Which isn’t very “zone” of me. Plus it makes me feel like I’m dying by the time lunch rolls around.
Here is his breakfast *jealous*:
Here’s his dinner from last night:
He got to eat that while I ate my spaghetti squash tomato pasta. I am pretty sure we were somehow jealous of each other. I was more jealous though, because I really miss shrimp. I hardly every eat it anymore because of my “athletic induced shellfish allergy“. Seriously the weirdest things happen to me…. I feel like i’m overdue for a freak accident.
Here is my whole30 skin after only 2 days:I don’t know how to not look creepy when I take pictures of myself.
But I just get really excited when I get to have awesome skin. I am pretty sure it’s the dairy.
Whatever.
Okay so tonight they are announcing the Open WOD 13.2–last week I dreamed it would be snatches at it came true. So we’ll see how intuitive my unconscious brain is because last night I dreamed it was front squats and toes to bar. Hopefully it won’t be that, but just in case… you read it here first. el oh el.
